Pendleton’s roots began in 1863 after British weaver Thomas Kay undertook a transcontinental trek to Oregon. Kay eventually opened his own mill in Pendleton in 1909, taking over a defunct business near Eastern Oregon’s sheep country. Over the last century, Kay's brand became synonymous with American-made wool blankets and apparel, with a legacy for high-quality design that's endured its rich history. The company’s original plants are some of the few woolen mills still operating in the Pacific Northwest, turning out the brand’s beautiful clothing and accessories. The intricate patterns of luxurious virgin wool blankets inspired by Native American legends can be felt and seen thanks to years of expertise and innovation. Whether it’s a jacket, shawl, or sweater, a Pendleton product’s quality, comfort, and beauty can last a lifetime.
